Oh Hey, Paris!

One of the serious perks of living in London is the ease of travel to fabulous international destinations. We like traveling for birthdays (they're really just an excuse to travel) and since it was mine, we headed to Paris!

I picked up my mom from the airport as she had just flown in from Denver and we hopped on the Euro-star to Paris. Wait...we hopped on the train after the one we were supposed to be on. Yes folks, we missed our first train to Paris. You know, not giving ourselves enough time... rain... traffic... I mean we really missed our train.

Once we (finally) arrived in Paris we found the taxi line to be insanely long. Apparently in Paris, buggies get to jump to the head of the insanely long line. Gladly. Merci!

We checked into our apartment that we rented through airbnb. When more than one hotel room is needed, renting is always more economical and frankly, easier when traveling with a child. They provided a crib, the location was wonderful and we loved the apartment!

We put M and my mom to bed and headed out to grab a bite to eat. We had some difficulty finding a place that was open late on a Thursday but happened upon a nice outside spot where we enjoyed some steak-frites and vin rouge. Our waiter was quite the character and he saw that we were taking some pictures so he grabbed my phone and did a few of his own.

After enjoying some croissants and coffee on Friday morning, our first stop was the Eiffel Tower. Or the Eiffel Tire as M likes to say. We all took our turns taking pictures with the tower (sorry, bear with me)

Then we headed to Rue de Cler and grabbed some lunch at one of Paris' best markets.

After M's nap back at the apartment, we headed out towards Notre Dame and saw this silly dog on our way.

The River Seine

Notre Dame de Paris

M loves music so we stopped and listened to a few hits from these two right outside of the church.

We grabbed a light early dinner with my mom and M which included M's favorites- pizza and a gigantic bowl of pasta.

Davis and I headed out for a late dinner date after putting M to bed to Spring Restaurant. We were supposed to make it for my birthday but remember how we missed our train? My smarty pants husband made a reservation two nights in a row (just in case!) We enjoyed their preset menu- nothing too scary (phew!) and it was all yummy!

(Insert here pic of last course before dessert. Forgot to snap a pic before digging in.)

And after dinner, Davis and I headed back to the Eiffel Tower to see it all lit up. It's just so very beautiful at night.

Selfies are tricky at night! Not the best pic but it was about the best we could do.

More Paris adventures coming soon...

Cheers!
Kelley
